ABOUT BRIGHT BIRD FARM
Rooted in Curiosity
Bright Bird Farm is a small family farm in Valleyford, Washington, where we are building a life guided by hands-on learning, seasonal projects, and steady growth.
I’m Sarah, the person behind the garden, chickens, bees, farm stand, and the many projects taking shape here. I love taking an idea and figuring out how to bring it into reality. Sometimes that means growing food from seed, learning to keep bees and harvest honey, or tackling a project I’ve never done before. I rarely begin as an expert. I begin because I’m curious enough to try something new.
Bright Bird Farm grew from a desire to participate more fully in the cycle of our food—to grow it close to home, prepare it with simple ingredients, and better appreciate the time, care, and resources that carry food from seed to table. Along the way, this curiosity has helped us build a life grounded in creativity, resourcefulness, and connection to the land. It has also given my children a front-row seat to the process of learning: trying something new, making mistakes, asking questions, and discovering again and again that big ideas become possible when you take them one step at a time.
Today, the farm is home to a large garden, a lively flock of chickens, two beehives, and a growing range of ongoing projects, skills, and dreams. We share what the seasons provide through our roadside farm stand, and we enjoy welcoming others here for hands-on homesteading classes and community.
Bright Bird Farm is still becoming—and that’s part of its story. This is a place for learning as we go, building meaningful connections with one another, our food, and the land, and being brave enough to begin.
